So… you want to work in the wedding industry?

It was over 8 years ago that I found myself working in the wedding industry.  I say found as prior to that I was a commercial bank manager with no intention of doing anything else with my life and career.   A phone call from my Sister one day changed all that……but that’s a story for another day!

Back in 2010 the wedding industry was a VERY different place to what it is now.  On a positive note, these days it’s more creative but it’s also a hell of a lot more crowded. To stay in the game, vendors are needing to adapt to the ever changing needs and demands of couples and we’re all constantly learning new tricks.

Becoming a  wedding vendor whether it’s a side hustle or a full time gig you’re looking to create takes more than simply ‘doing what you do well’ and you’ll quickly realise that marketing and running your business efficiently is the key to success.

Our first workshop on Wednesday 17th October at Netherhill Farm is designed to delve into the fundamentals and principals of marketing and branding to not only help you stand out from the crowd but to target your social media to connect with your tribe.

We also talk about how to be successful at a wedding fair or expo which takes more than just creating a beautiful stand.

After lunch we’ll guide you through about how to make your business more productive and to help it grow by connecting you with some awesome apps, platforms, people and places.

Our second workshop on Sunday 21st October also at Netherhill Farm is all about styled shoots which are a hugely important part of building credibility, creating kick ass content for your social media and to connect you with a referral source of vendors. There’s no right or wrong way to create a styled shoot as such but there’s many things we’ve learnt along the way that we’d love to share with you.

To make it an interactive experience, it will also be your opportunity to be a fly on the wall as a styled shoot is taking place with a debrief at the end to give you the secrets in ensuring your shoot gets seen and published.
