Barossa Wedding Fair

In preparation for the Autumn fair at Angaston next year, I recently spent the day in the beautiful Barossa Valley to meet up with some exhibitors and sponsors and to also scope out the venue at Angaston Town Hall which is hosting the fair on Sunday 3rd May 2015.

First up I headed to Stevens Estate Garden in Williamstown which is a romantic ceremony venue with varied and versitile options along with the most photograph opportunities within 100sq metres that I’ve ever seen.

A private homestead, this ceremony venue offers plenty of shade, beautiful landscaped gardens and creature comforts such as a brand new toilet block plus rainy day backup options such as a beautiful terrace overlooking the dam.

Ceremonies are conducted in places that provide the best photographic natural light, set in a tranquil environment with views of water and open paddocks. There are heaps of little features that make this venue so unique – check out the swing, the hay stack sofa, the succulents, the bridges, open water, the chandelier……

The onsite cottage also offers an amazing opportunity for couples to have some rustic and unique photographs too.

After our visit we headed further into the valley to meet with Miss Maggies Flowers who is one of the sponsors of the fair.  We chatted through some exciting ideas together with By The Oaktree and also visited the venue.

After that we stopped by to see Bethany from Viva The Flowerstore who are also exhibiting at the Barossa fair which is a stunning store also situated in lovely Angaston.

Spring 2014 Carclew House

After months of planning, the day finally came to open the doors at beautiful Carclew House to showcase 40 extremely talented wedding and event vendors who all put their heart and soul in to presenting their products and services.  Seriously, I was totally blown away.

This was LCA’s 4th fair here in Adelaide and since they were established 18 or so months ago I’ve got to know so many amazing people in the wedding and event industry so it was great to catch up with so many familiar faces on the day.

These fairs are made possible not only by the amazing inspiration the exhibitors offer but also the businesses that sponsor the fair. So I’d like to thank Aussie Party Hire who provided the marques and pavillions and a gorgeous display via the Wedding & Flower Room, Brides of Adelaide, Carclew house for providing such a beautiful backdrop (I can’t tell you how many people commented on the character of the building) and also Magnolia Press for designing the art work and welcome sign.

I’d also like to thank the entertainment.  The Elliot Sisters and their amazing band Swing and Tonic, David from Griffin Wedding DJ’s and Shannon Lloyd acoustic.

Lastly, thanks to the girls at Plan Style Party and Fiona Thurlings Photography who did a wonderful job meeting an greeting with over 500 people who came on the day.

To describe the inspiration on offer words such as rustic, industrial, vintage, pretty, elegant, whimsy, botanical, boho and modern all spring to mind so there were ideas a plenty for every type of Bride.

Guests enterd via a beautiful rustic door arbour made by By The Oaktree which was decorated by Eliza W Flora.

Vida Events and Bluebelle Studio took over the board room and filled it full of so many beautiful details.  They did an awesome job!

Rather than a formal runway, Project Wifey collaborated with Lalkas Face, Glam Fix on the go and Bella in Bloom with model couples walking around the venue.

Vida Events created a huge pallet wall for Illume Flowers which was filled with gorgeous flowers and greenery providing the perfect backdrop for Life in Still Photography to capture couples against.

PLUS we had the amazing team from Rubix Booths back for a third fair.  These guys rock I LOVE their open booth.

This was all expertly captured on film by the lovely Jason from Captivate Films so take a look at some of the footage here and soak up the atmosphere!

LCA Loves ♥ Captivate Films

I think this video says it all really.  It captures the love, creativity, passion and fun that goes into each and every wedding fair.  The way it’s been filmed by Jason at Captivate Films is perfect too. Can’t wait to see the next fair’s film! Not long to go now…..

Reasons To Visit A Wedding Fair

My wedding was over 8 years ago now and back then, Facebook and blogs were just a glint in the eye of cyberspace.  In my day there was no PINTEREST! I know… just can’t imagine. How did I cope?!!

Fast forward in time to today and Brides are in the reverse situation that I found myself in with info and inspiration overload.  Truely, it must be quite overwhelming for you.

Whilst we’re blessed with 24 hour online inspiration, there are still many reasons to visit wedding fairs and since they all differ in size and style, it’s good to do a little research before you commit to going.

LCA fairs are designed to offer a wide range of inspiration so you’ll see a bit of everything.  From vintage, rustic, industrial, elegant, boho, traditional and more.  This is all within a relaxing and friendly environment with no hard selling.

Obviously one of the top reasons to visit is to get some ideas for your own big day and to seek out some vendors who offer what you’re looking for. Seeing in ‘real life’ the different styles that vendors have can be really useful for you to be able to put together your own vision. Maybe bring along your pinterest board with you to cross check. Furthermore,  I can hand on heart vouch that LCA vendors will go that extra mile to show you just how awesome their products and services are with creative and innovative displays.

Once you’re there you can taste the cake, feel the paper of the stationery, try the photo booth, meet the photographer, swoon over a dress and dazzle at the jewellery.  All of which cannot be done via a blog or magazine.  ‘Like Pinterest come to life’ said one lovely Bride.

You can be sure certainly in the case of exhibitors at LCA fairs that they are all high quality with an ability and dersire to exceed your expectations.  It’s only unfortunate that there’s not enough room for all of the amazing vendors in SA however to ensure that Brides don’t come away feeling overwhelmed then there is a cap on the number of exhibitors in each category.

Something else to consider if that you may be interested in booking a vendor that you’ve only seen via the web.  If you know they are exhibiting then you can have the opportunity to meet them and their product/service in person to make sure you’re 100% happy to proceed.

Weddings can be expensive. Fact. So the opportunity to save a few $$ is appealing to everyone. Some vendors use wedding fairs to incentivise bookings within a certain time frame. They may even have a competition or giveaway on the go?

Our next fair is 26th October 2014 10.30am – 3.30pm

at Carclew House North Adelaide.

$5 entry see you there!

LCA Winter Fair Wrap Up

Last weekend we along with 30 other exhibitors headed on up to historical Hahndorf for the first LCA Winter fair.

There’s a number of thank you’s to say to those who made it possible. First up to amazing stylists By The Oaktree for styling the venue.  Your creativity has no boundaries!!  Simply amazing.

Also to Sail & Swan for designing the beautiful artwork.

With an amazing list of exhibitors displaying so much creative flair, it’s no wonder so many Brides came away with so many ideas, contacts and inspiration. It’s always such a joy to see so many smiley Brides and the Grooms seemed pretty impressed too.

We were even blessed with some gorgeous weather up in the hills which made a change from the cold and wet Winter weather we’ve been having of late.

Here’s some images from the day to give you a feel for the day……. Looking forward to doing it all again in the hills next year!

The Adelaide Hills is a spectacular place to get married with so many outstandingly beautiful venues to choose from.  The vines, rolling landscape and the peace and quiet are just magical whatever the season.

Love Cherish Adore March 14

On Sunday 30th March 2014, we hosted our second fair at the beautiful Norwood Concert Hall. Apart from it being on the first floor (everyone’s legs were aching after bumping in and out!) the character of the venue really helped to set the scene for the fair.

We were once again proudly sponsored by Brides of Adelaide which as you will know is the stunning SA based wedding magazine featuring lots of amazing SA suppliers and vendors.

Thanks also to Norwood Concert hall for their support and sponsorship and not least, the extremely talented Sharon from Magnolia Press who designed all our art work including our beautiful chalkboard signage on the day. Sharon also co ordinated the inspiration table made some gorgeous ribbon tassles for reception and made our hessian banners hung outside the venue.

Thank you also to Fabulous Functions for the beautiful floral display at reception.

After months of planning, it was a great feeling to see the venue being totally transformed with every single exhibitor pulling out the stops to create stunning displays for their products and services.

There were many proud moments with people giving us amazing feedback. I take no credit for this though. Love Cherish Adore is only as good as the exhibitors it showcases so thank you to all the exhibitors for all your hard work!

The atmosphere was set alive with live entertainment from The Various Nefarious, a multi piece jazz band. Griffin Wedding DJ’s is also thanked for putting together a great play list of electro swing and chillout tunes.

The day was captured on film too by Premiere Films. Here’s a link to watch it.

Thank you Travis for your hard work!

The event began with 6 lovely volunteers greeting the hundreds of Brides and Guests with the first 250 Brides receiving a canvas tote full of offers and discounts plus room for their complimentary copy of Brides of Adelaide and all the other treats and samples exhibitors were offering. Upstairs on the first floor hosted all the exhibitors with their displays, fun photo booths by Rubix Booths and Retro Photobooths food and drink by Two Bit Villains, hair and make up demos by the wonderful Gemma Vendetta and lots & lots of cake and dessert samples!

With out further ado, here are some images from the day.
