Throughout the excitement of all the planning, it’s all too easy to concentrate on the details of your wedding day but what happens after you get married? Once the big day is over is the important part begins.  The part where you actually begin life as a married couple.

There’s no marriage or relationship on this planet that’s perfect. The eb and flow of life and its ups and downs can test even the strongest of unions to breaking point at times.

Victory coaching based here in SA are experts in coaching couples to get the very best out of their marriage or relationship through a positive and proven strategy to review all areas of what’s important to maintain a healthy relationship.

Lynn from Victory coaching gives us an insight in to their wonderful work.

Building a Strong Marriage

We believe that a strong marriage is the foundation for a joyful, fulfilled, peaceful and overflowing family life where the couples love and understand each other and where the children feel loved, secure and confident.

The bond that ties this all together is the relationship between Husband and Wife. With the demands of daily life such as work, school runs, kid’s sports and family commitments, couples can fins themselves drifting apart.  It happens slowly and most times goes unnoticed until it reaches a tipping point when it suddenly hits us like a ton of bricks that many of the reasons why we fell in love with our partner, are hardly even noticeable anymore. Without meaning to or realising it, we have become strangers living together and basically existing as a support system for our jobs, children, friends and other family members.

The bond of Love between a Husband and Wife needs to be nurtured and this doesn’t happen without concerted effort. Couples need to have effective strategies in order to rekindle or sustain passion, intimacy and trust. Realizing and accepting this is the first step of the journey.

For couples who are engaged and planning to get married, they need strategies to ensure that the love and passion they have for each other does not wane after the initial euphoria of the wedding day and honeymoon. They will also need to know how to navigate living with each other, children and in-laws.

We are passionate about this because we can see how the disintegration of families leads to a destructive cycle that involves the couples themselves, the children and other family members.

Some of the strategies we coach are Creating Everlasting Love, The Importance of Trust, Respect and Presence, The Power of Connection and Alignment, and Finding Love and Compassion.

One of the Key Strategies that couples need to learn are the 6 Human Needs. Every person has these 6 core needs that must be met in order for them to be consistent with who they perceive themselves to be. The 6 needs are:

  1. Certainty: assurance you can avoid pain and gain pleasure
  2. Uncertainty/Variety: the need for the unknown, change, new stimuli
  3. Significance: feeling unique, important, special or needed
  4. Connection/Love: a strong feeling of closeness or union with someone or something
  5. Growth: an expansion of capacity, capability or understanding
  6. Contribution: a sense of service and focus on helping, giving to and supporting others

All behaviour is an attempt by the individual to meet these 6 basic needs. If we can identify which needs we prioritize over others, then we will begin to understand why we do what we do and in relationships, this is the key to understanding your Partner on a very, very deep level.

From this realisation, you can begin to build on your relationship. It is a very powerful strategy. We call it “Digging Deep in order to Reach High!”

All of us deserve a wonderful Family Life. That is what Victory Coaching International is here to help you achieve.
