This real wedding had us at lemon meringue pie and bunting and even the bride herself admits it was even better than her Pinterest board!

Having been together for 8 years already, it was during their regular Sunday walk along the beach to watch the sunset that Ben convinced Rochelle to sit down for a moment.  Despite it being a freezing day, at that moment Rochelle spotted a wooden box sticking out of the sand.  Ben suggested they dig it up but Rochelle was hesitant to in case it was ‘a bomb!’ however on opening it she discovered a silver frame inside with a picture of their rescue kitten and the words ‘will you marry me’. But there was a condition attached to the proposal with Ben insisting their wedding wouldn’t coincide with the footy finals.  Fair call!

With wedding plans in full swing and in search for a simple, laid back wedding venue they stumbled across Russell’s Pizza at Willunga;  a cute and quirky venue that’s full to the brim with character.  They instantly knew there and then that they’d found the perfect place that complimented their love for succulents, vintage cameras and of course amazing pizza.

They also opted to have a first look which suited them both perfectly. ‘Choosing to do a first look was the right decision for us. It was nice to show true emotion and have it captured but with no one else around. There were uncontrollable tears, lots of laughter and time stood still as we shared the moment just the two of us, before being swept up in the rest of the day.’ remembers Rochelle.

Although this wedding is bursting with details, it was actually the smallest detail that Rochelle remembers the most ‘It was Ben’s tie clip which was a west end bottle cap and worn as a memory of where my Dad (who passed away 10 years earlier) used to work. I burst into tears the moment I saw it, overwhelmed by the gesture and the fact he had kept it a surprise.’ For Ben, it was seeing Rochelle walk down the aisle which included a pre-planned little twist ‘I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face seeing my soon to be wife walk down the aisle. She stopped at the end and waited for me to meet her, so we could walk the rest of the way together, hand in hand. We hadn’t told anyone of this plan.’ OMG these two are just the cutest!
